Amana Washer F38 Error Code
The shifter (which changes between wash and spin modes) is not working.
Common causes
- Broken shifter assembly
- Loose wiring to shifter
- Faulty control board
How to fix it
- Unplug the washer and inspect the shifter (located under the tub) for visible damage.
- Check wire connections to the shifter.
- Listen for a clicking sound when the washer tries to shift; no sound may indicate a dead shifter.
