Whirlpool Oven/Range F2 Error Code

The oven temperature sensor is reading a short circuit (resistance too low).

Common causes

  • Faulty temperature sensor (RTD)
  • Short in wiring to sensor
  • Pinched or damaged wires

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the range and remove the back panel.
  2. Visually inspect the sensor probe for damage.
  3. Use a multimeter to measure resistance; should be ~1100 ohms at room temp. If near 0 ohms, replace sensor.
⚠ When to call a pro: If you are not comfortable testing with a multimeter or replacing the sensor, call a pro.
