The main control board cannot communicate with the icemaker assembly, causing the icemaker to stop working.
Common causes
- Loose or damaged wiring harness between icemaker and control board
- Faulty icemaker control module
- Main control board failure
How to fix it
- Check the icemaker wiring connections at the rear of the refrigerator and at the icemaker itself; reseat any loose connectors.
- Reset the refrigerator by unplugging for 30 seconds and plugging back in.
- Inspect the wires for damage or rodent chewing.
