F1Warning
Maytag Oven/Range F1 Error Code
The oven temperature sensor circuit is open or has failed, preventing accurate temperature readings.
Common causes
- Faulty oven temperature sensor (RTD)
- Loose or damaged wiring to the sensor
- Control board issue
How to fix it
- Turn off power to the range at the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power and see if error clears.
- If error persists, locate the oven temperature sensor (usually at the back of the oven cavity).
- Inspect the sensor probe for damage and check that the connector is securely plugged into the control board.
- Measure resistance of the sensor with a multimeter; at room temperature it should be around 1100 ohms. If open or shorted, replace sensor.
⚠ When to call a pro: If the sensor resistance is correct and wiring is intact but the error persists, the control board may need replacement.
