F25Warning
LG Refrigerator F25 Error Code
The defrost temperature sensor (thermistor) in the freezer is open or shorted. This sensor monitors evaporator coil temperature during defrost.
Common causes
- Faulty defrost sensor (thermistor)
- Loose or corroded wiring connector
- Damaged wiring harness
How to fix it
- Unplug refrigerator and locate the defrost sensor (usually clipped onto the evaporator coil inside the freezer).
- Disconnect sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter; should be around 10k-15k ohms at room temperature (consult manual for exact specs).
- If reading is open (OL) or shorted (0 ohms), replace the sensor.
- Check connector pins for corrosion or damage; clean if needed.
⚠ When to call a pro: Call a technician if sensor tests good but code persists, as the main control board may be faulty.
