F3Warning

KitchenAid Oven/Range F3 Error Code

The oven temperature sensor is reading as an open circuit.

Common causes

  • Broken wire or connector to the sensor
  • Failed sensor (open circuit)
  • Control board issue

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the range or turn off the breaker.
  2. Inspect the sensor wires for breaks or burns.
  3. Check the sensor connector at the control board.
  4. Test sensor resistance; an open circuit (infinite ohms) means replace sensor.
  5. If wires are intact and sensor replaced, reconnect power.
⚠ When to call a pro: If the error returns after replacing the sensor, the control board likely needs replacement.
