F2Warning

KitchenAid Oven/Range F2 Error Code

The oven temperature sensor is reading out of range or has failed.

Common causes

  • Faulty oven temperature sensor (RTD)
  • Loose or damaged wiring to the sensor
  • Main control board failure

How to fix it

  1. Turn off power to the range at the circuit breaker.
  2. Locate the oven temperature sensor (usually at the back of the oven cavity).
  3. Check the sensor connector for looseness or corrosion; reseat if needed.
  4. Measure sensor resistance with a multimeter (should be ~1090 ohms at room temp).
  5. If resistance is out of spec (open or short), replace the sensor.
⚠ When to call a pro: Call a technician if the sensor tests correctly but the error persists, as the control board may be faulty.
