Hotpoint Dryer E2 Error Code

The thermistor (temperature sensor) is not reading correctly, causing improper heating.

Common causes

  • Faulty thermistor
  • Loose wiring to thermistor
  • Shorted or open circuit

How to fix it

  1. Unplug dryer and locate the thermistor near the blower housing.
  2. Check the wiring connection to the thermistor.
  3. Test thermistor resistance with a multimeter (should vary with temperature).
