The thermistor (temperature sensor) is not reading correctly, causing improper heating.
Common causes
- Faulty thermistor
- Loose wiring to thermistor
- Shorted or open circuit
How to fix it
- Unplug dryer and locate the thermistor near the blower housing.
- Check the wiring connection to the thermistor.
- Test thermistor resistance with a multimeter (should vary with temperature).
