F4Warning

Whirlpool Dishwasher F4 Error Code

The dishwasher's temperature sensor (thermistor) is malfunctioning or disconnected.

Common causes

  • Faulty thermistor
  • Loose connector
  • Short circuit in harness

How to fix it

  1. Unplug dishwasher, locate thermistor (usually near heater), check connector.
  2. Measure resistance of thermistor at room temperature (should be ~10k-50k ohms).
  3. Inspect wiring for damage.
⚠ When to call a pro: If resistance is out of spec or connector OK, replace thermistor or call a pro.
